Insider Information

I arrived at about 2:50pm for my first 3:00pm middle school football game. My youngest daughter, Rachel, started cheerleading this year.

I discovered I was too late! In Hays, Kansas, the stands are packed 10 minutes before a middle school football game. There were about three seats left or standing room only. You could not see the game from any of the remaining seats – and my wife and mother were scheduled to join me in 30 minutes.

I never expected middle school football would generate that type of crowd. If only I had that information before heading to the game, I would have been better prepared.

When working through finding, getting, and paying for good care, you will run into situations you would never expect. With a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s, dementia, or Parkinson’s it can feel like there is insider information. Information everyone else has and you don’t.

About 20 years ago, Clinkscales Elder Law Practice started focusing on helping families navigate in-home care, assisted living care, nursing home care, Medicaid, Medicare, and all the parts of the journey. For 20 years, we devoted ourselves to helping families with a diagnosis live with dignity.

Part of our mission is providing “insider information” to you. We have books, newsletters, pamphlets, and information to help you on your journey.

Back to middle school cheerleading – I got lucky – there were three seats right down in front of the cheerleaders. We couldn’t see the game, but my wife, my mother, and I were in perfect view for Rachel. For the next game, I’ll be there at 2:30pm ready for a crowd!
